*Age 6 – Donna was hospitalized for malnutrition.

*Age 16 – Donna had her first heart procedure.

*On March 1, 1978 – Donna survived a fiery DC-10 plane crash that transformed her life in seconds and testified to change airline safety regulations in the United States.

*On March 1, 2002 – She was diagnosed with Stage III Melanoma as a single mother. Cancer free and an activist for healthy lifestyles.

*On March 1, 2006 – Donna triumphed over emergency open heart surgery to replace a faulty aortic valve. Now an advocate for women’s heart health.

*On March 2020 – COVID-19 pandemic. She had to have heart surgery to replace her aortic valve again! Trans-catheter Aortic Valve Replacement surgery survivor.

On March 1, 1978, Donna was the last survivor from her section on Continental Flight 603, flying from LAX to Hawaii and this crash changed her life forever. She is an actress in Los Angeles and a former Miss Hawaii and was going back to the Islands to MC the Miss Hawaii Pageant. The speech opens with a reenactment and a dark room, with sound effects, her inner dialogue before and during the crash, and the explosion. Facing death, she was searching for her own truth and if her life mattered. The lights turn on, and Donna walks from the back of the room, through the audience, asking them the same questions she asked herself:

Do you love yourself?
Do you have a good relationship with your family and friends?
Are you living your goals and dreams?
If you die today, have you left this planet a better place for being here?
Donna screamed No.

This crash is a transformative moment. She is subpoenaed to testified before the National Transportation Safety Board and focused on her inner leadership and fought for those who had died, those who were injured, and brought about change with improved safety regulations Today she can answer Yes to the four questions.
